Alan Bath - LA Governor

Picture 1

I am a Local Authroity Governor, I am also the Health and Safety Governor. This is my second time as a Governor at St George’s, the first time I stood as a Parent Governor when my children attended the school.

I became a Governor at St George’s because I wanted to give something back. What I wasn't prepared for was how much I would enjoy my role!

My wife and I moved to Amersham in 1999, then to Chesham in 2005. We have three children who have all attended St Georges. One of my children has a Statement of SEN and we actively understand the processes this involves with a child’s education.

I have always felt very passionate about the school and the fantastic start it gives to any child's education. It is an extremely caring place for both parent and child starting out on the education journey.  I love coming into to school and talking with children and staff alike and just feeling part of the big family that is St Georges.

I work for Dixons Retail as a Space planner for the last few years and the 5 years previous I worked for Tesco as a Store Planner. This has given me great understanding of processes, costs and high standards that we aspire to as a Governing Body. Outside of School I am a Volunteer Youth Worker for Chiltern Youth Projects, with various additional roles including Safeguarding and Training.
