Keeping Seaside Traditions alive!

Local Amersham community groups The WI and Men in Sheds came together and worked collaboratively to kindly make and deliver the most wonderful puppet theatre to the children of St Georges CE Infant School.

The local community groups created a beautiful puppet theatre, with lots of additional resources to bring the topic of ‘Seaside Holidays’ to life including a suitcase full of artefacts that will support the children’s learning about British Seaside holiday traditions and entertainment from the past.

Year 1 Class Teacher, Mrs Debbie Flack explained "Year 1 children have been covering the Seaside as one of their topics this year, so the generous and thoughtful gift has coincided beautifully with our curriculum."

Head Teacher Mrs Beverley Accastello said "The puppet theatre is simply beautiful!  The kindness and generosity of both the WI and Men in Sheds is such a wonderful example for the children to see our school value of 'Community' working in action".

The Team at St George’s cannot thank both the WI and Men in Shed’s enough for their wonderful creation.  The children are very lucky!.
