Tesco like other large retailers is required by law to charge a minimum of 5p for every single-use carrier bag used by a customer. Proceeds from the charge at Tesco will fund grants to improve community spaces. The scheme is administered by environmental charity Groundwork.
St George’s School has been short listed as one of the local community schemes who will receive money.
We will be one of the three organisations included in a vote within the store to decide how much we will receive (1st, 2nd or 3rd place sums of money) anything up to £12,000.
How can we help?
We need as many people as possible to vote for us in participating stores (Tesco and Tesco Metro stores in Amersham and Little Chalfont).
How will the vote work?
Stores taking part in the vote will be supplied with a voting unit and customers will be given a token, with every transaction, to vote for their preferred community project over the course of a nine-day period, from Saturday 27th February 2016 until Sunday 6th March 2016.
DON’T FORGET TO VOTE
