Welcome to the Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
Registered charity: 298920
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is led by parents, supported by teachers and exists to raise money for the school. In order to achieve this, we hold a number of events throughout the year such as Summer fayres, Tea with Santa, Elfridges, school discos, Mother's Day & Father's day events, Cake sales, Break the rules day, and many more. We also raise money using the Voucher Scheme (see below for further details), School Lottery, Fund Matching Scheme, Asda cashpot for schools and Easyfundraising.
St George’s Core PTA Team:
Co-Chairs: Alex Cross & Lauren Hendy
Co-Secretaries: Carla Cereda & Emma Burrow
Co-Treasurers: Anna Samson & Theodora Hristozova
Our goal is to ensure that all children at St George's are given equal opportunities and have the best start to school life that they can. The funds we raise help to buy equipment for use in the classrooms, improve the teaching facilities and the school buildings, and give the children little treats along the way.
For more information and the latest news from the PTA, please keep an eye on the notice board which is located to the right as you come through the gate. You can also sign up to Classlist (www.classlist.com) for regular updates, events sign up, and online payments. Finally, look out for Knights News in your email inbox!
This could not happen without the invaluable support from all of our parents and we are really keen to encourage everyone to help in whatever way they can. If you have a skill or hobby that could benefit the team such as cake making, artistic flair, DIY, photography, disco DJ, marketing, accounting or anything else, then please let us know. Or perhaps you have a local contact who could potentially support, assist, donate or sponsor events, or have a matched giving scheme within your company – again, we would love to hear from you. We are very grateful and fortunate to have such a diverse community at St. George's and welcome fresh perspectives, ideas, and contributions from everyone, no matter how small. Every little counts! In addition to raising funds, the PTA also aims to bring the community of St George’s together, with the hope of making it a really fun place to be, so come along and make new friends as you help raise money for the school. Email us at stgeorgesptateam@gmail.com if you'd like to get involved.
The PTA recently paid for the children to experience fun and exciting science.
The children all thoroughly enjoyed the 'Silly Science' workshops during science week. They were able to participate in some amazing experiments, from making a giant bubble, blowing the ball with the leaf blower to show thrust and, shooting fizzy drinks into the air when adding Mento's to the bottle.
The New STEM Room
Thank you to all our parents, staff and school community for helping to raise money to create our new STEM Room. It has been used many times already and the children are really enjoying the room and the new resources.
Superhero Challenge
Congratulations to everyone who took part in the challenge, you're all superheroes! As a school we hoped to complete 4789 miles, we completely smashed this target travelling a massive 7409 miles throughout the month of February. Well done all of you, we hope you and your families had fun taking part.
The teachers have already noticed that the children have come back from this lockdown more active and less worn out when taking part in exercise which is just fantastic, well done all of you for getting out and getting active especially over a very cold February.
Kaz has been busy creating a film with all your photos from the Superhero Challenge. Take a look using the link below...

Compost Bins
We now have a new compost bin at school, funded by the PTA, in addition to the compost bin given to school by Amersham In Bloom.
The children are busy filling up the compost bins with fruit peelings from snack time and lunch time, so hopefully Gardening Club will be able to use the compost on the new flower beds.
The Eco Warriors are very pleased with the new purchase!
